The St. Catharines GO Train Station is a modest but functional transit hub serving the Niagara Region. Located on Great Western Street, the station provides essential connectivity for commuters traveling to and from Toronto and other parts of the GTA.

Situated near the downtown core, the station is easily accessible for locals and those from surrounding towns. It’s close to the 406, making it a convenient spot for those driving in from nearby cities.

There is ample parking, which is a big plus for daily commuters. The lot is spacious and generally has plenty of spots, even during peak hours.

The station, along with the waiting area and platform, is clean and well-kept.

However, it’s quite small, offering very limited amenities. There's no on-site café or large indoor waiting area. You’ll find a vending machine and basic seating, but that’s about it.

The biggest downfall of this location is the train frequency. The schedule is sparse, especially outside of peak hours, which can be very inconvenient.

Overall, the St. Catharines GO Train Station performs its function efficiently, providing a reliable transit option for those in the Niagara Region. While it might not have all the bells and whistles of a major station, it offers a clean, accessible, and generally pleasant experience for commuters. If you're planning a trip, just be mindful of the schedule!

When GO offers just ONE service in the afternoon at 5.21pm and my legs are cramping because the train is so absolutely packed and i have to stay like this for one hour of my 2.15hs train ride, is time for GO Train to add more services or at least make this trip more direct not stopping until Burlington! We need additional and more efficient service!

My husband works in Oakville, we looked into how much it would cost and how much time it would take for him to get there. Number 1 issue is the parking, not nearly enough so I would have to drive him to the station. Number 2 issue, it costs more than the gas. Number 3 issue, it takes longer even when the traffic is slow. This needs to change, if they want people to start using public transit more they need to make it more affordable for people and more accessible. Disappointing.

I had a disappointing experience at this train station. The lack of customer service was very noticeable, making it difficult to navigate and find the information needed for my trip. Additionally, the fact that busses do not stop at this station was a major inconvenience. I was planning on travelling to Toronto, but had to walk to a bus stop outside of the train station where they did stop. This added extra time and stress to my journey. Overall, I would not recommend this train station to others based on my experience. I will not be returning here in the future. Fix this.

I had an unacceptable experience here. No customer service, GO busses don't even stop here! (I had to walk along St. Paul to find the bus stop somewhere that is NOT where the train station is.) Barely any direct trains from here to Union. Fix this.

Glorified bus stop. The actual train station is never open. You can’t use the washroom there or even go inside for warmth (me and other passengers are currently freezing waiting outside mid January on a Monday afternoon) I’ve travelled to this station 7 times and only one time have I been able to actually enter. Why can’t they pay someone to be inside? This seems ridiculous how little this station is actually open / no indication of openness or signage. Elderly passengers here complaining how cold they are, this is really sad and embarrassing.

Nice that there's benches but the building isn't open during typical weekday business hours. Visited here twice and both times I was not able to access the building or use the bathroom. So likely not a good spot to wait with small children.
