A great spot to see manatees & a few dolphins! Water is very murky, but boat ramp is in good shape, dock looks newer, and there is a porta potty on site.

I didn't go here to launch a boat - I went to see manatees. I was not disappointed as they were really putting on a show! I learned, from the gentleman operating a kayak tour, that summer is mating season and manatee are drawn to the aquifer in the cove. This is a place where you can see bioluminescence at night. I also saw a few dolphin while I sat here, dangling my feet in the water, and hoping they didn't look tasty to alligators. The boat launch was very nice. It's $10 to launch. Today was a fee free day and yet the parking lot was not full at 11am on a Saturday. You cannot launch PWC's here as it is part of the Canaveral National Seashore. I saw many kayaks and boats. Beautiful views. One thing I noticed, as I walked around, was a lot of trash along the water's edge in the trees that may have washed up. I picked up several bottles and cigarette packages and plastic bags. Plastic bags are particularly dangerous to turtles. They look like jellyfish to the turtles and the turtle may swallow the bag. All-in-all, spectacular scenery here!

There was a herd of manatee (with babies) resting in the safety of the cove. It was one of several stops on our local kayak adventure. Came here later and saw 2 dolphin hunting in mouth of the little bay. Lots of birds coming and going including osprey, pelicans and a snowy egret.
There was a shocking amount of garbage washed up in the parking lot. Perhaps it was a recent storm but we didn't see anything like that elsewhere. I hope there is some funding from launch fees going towards clean-up.
If you want a more up-close wildlife experience I highly recommend the nearby kayak tour (Cocoa Beach Kayak Tours) It was inexpensive and very rewarding!

Great place to see Manatee and plenty of space for boat launching. Parking for visitors is separate from boating launch area Boat launch is $10 Plenty of boating activity in the canal. Popular for fish from the shore and canoe trips

Best place to find a bunch of manatees in Dec! Go on a weekday when there are less boats using the boat ramp. We even saw dolphins playing!

This boat ramp is a joke at night during the weekends. Infested with Kayakers & SUP with no lights on. Cars parked in TRAILER only spots and not paying the fee. They need to educate these Kayakers that they are required to have proper lighting at night, USCG Rule 25 applies to them, too.
