Went to pick up our food trailer yesterday in Phoenix. Prior to arriving at the shipping company, we were given precise instructions (on the phone) from the office workers on what we needed to do and what to expect. They told us to bring the tools (crow bar, saw, hammer, etc.) that we will need with us to disassemble (in their parking lot) the crate that our trailer was placed in. They told us that we would need to take away all our trash after we were finished.

When we got there we were told that we would not be able to do what they said earlier on the phone. We then tried to figure out what we were going to do and come up with other options regarding our crate/trailer. It almost seemed like no one there knew what to do about our situation. Finally, we asked about possibly shipping the crate to our home (4-5 hours away). They started looking into it to find out if it was possible and what the cost would be.

At the same time we asked to speak to the manager. Although, the guys in the front office seemed hesitant to bring our problem to the attention of the operations manager/terminal manager for some reason. So we just stood there waiting to speak to either of them. I finally got upset because we drove 4 1/2 hours to get there to bring/tow our trailer back home. It was a very hot day and we really just wanted to do what we went there to do, plain and simple. I guess the terminal manager saw what the situation was escalating to and decided to come to the front customer window. I explained to him that his employees told us to come with our bag of tools and that we could remove our trailer from the crate on the premises just as long as we remove our trash. He then told us that the rules have since changed, and will no longer allow these things to happen there. He also said that people from the day before left a whole bunch of trash behind in their parking lot, and because of that he no longer wants people to uncrate on their property. We fully understood where he was coming from, and told him that we would never trash someone elses property the way the other people did. I guess he believed us and decided to let us do what we needed to do.

It took us several hours to disassemble the crate, remove the trailer, put on the wheels, assemble trailer parts, etc. Doing all of this in the hot Phoenix sun, mind you. Lol! We have to give kudos to the warehouse manager for bringing the crate out to us and coming back twice to help lift up our trailer with his forklift because we were having a difficult time installing the tires/wheels. Also, several workers on the warehouse floor were very helpful. They brought out a broom/trash can for us, and were just very friendly and kind. Overall, we had a good experience there, even though it didn't start out right and the way it was supposed to.

Take care, guys and keep up the good work! Oh, and you deserve a raise!

Literally takes hours to process warehouse fees. If y'all want the money there are way more efficient ways of charging people in the 21st century.

It was quite the hassle being a first timer importing from Asia not knowing how complicated it would be. Instead of kindly guiding a client through the process, the lady working front desk surely did make you feel dumb and didn’t care to take you seriously. However, the gentleman that helped my unload the boxes into my car was so kind. Definitely didn’t judge me by the way I looked. Just a friendly reminder that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and if you’re working front desk at a company, you are the face of the company. First to be seen and last to be seen when exiting. At least be a bit more kind. Telling a worker to come and out and remind us, “those boxes are to be thrown out they can’t be kept here.” Obviously we knew that. Ugh never again.
