Horribly disorganized dispatch. I had a pickup scheduled from my hotel at 4:30am, and had received a confirmation email saying so. They even called me the day before to confirm the 4:30am time. Then that morning a 2:00am I was woken up by a phone call from the front desk saying my shuttle was here and the driver said I had to come now and he couldn't wait more than a few minutes. Apparently they had left me a voicemail at 10:00pm saying that there was no 4:30am shuttle and that I'd have to be picked up at 2:00am. I'm not sure how they expected this message to reach me because I was already asleep at that time considering I knew I had to wake up in time for a 4:30am shuttle.

The driver was very nice about it and they did give me a refund, but I definitely won't be using this service again if I can't trust that it will actually show up when they say it's going to.

Also, on my prior trip from the airport to the hotel there was no information given in the confirmation about the pickup location or what the shuttle looked like. It would've been very easy for me to miss it.

This is an excellent service with places & times that fit into anyone's schedule. Save your family & friend's the Burden & Expense of getting you to the airport & home again! No longer will you need to dread that feeling & question that looms beneath your travel plan's, ' who's going to be able to get me to the airport? How will I get home?'. After discovering this service I no longer worry about placing that hassle on other's, taking time & unwanted obligation away from their busy lives. In fact, I can leave my own car at the Park n Ride pick up locations adding even more restored independence!!! & so affordable!!!

I have been taking this shuttle for the last three years, every few months. Drivers have been friendly, but the buses are too rough and service has now become downright dangerous. Last time I rode the bus, it broke down. I was asked by the driver to help two other passengers, who were foreign. They did not know how to get around and needed help. If I got them to SFO, I was promised by the driver that I would get a refund and also be reimbursed for the Uber cost. This ended up costing me more than double the price of my ticket. I was happy to help, but deeply disappointed by the lack of response from the company as to the refund. I have been calling and emailing every few days without any refund. I know plenty of people from Monterey who have been treated badly by this shuttle company and now I will also stop using this service, and may have to take the matter to small claims court. Don't bother with this shuttle company if you're not prepared to take on a rescue mission for poor tourists who might be stranded without your help when this bus breaks down. By the looks of things, the driver seemed way too familiar with the situation when the bus broke down. What if it had broken down in the middle of the highway?

Super convenient way to get from SJC down to Monterey and back! I had initially booked the Amtrak but after multiple delays(that would have caused me to miss my connection) I called and was able to book with Groome within 30 minutes of pickup. Drivers were great and it was nice getting dropped off right at the airport!

Great service. Drivers wait briefly and will attempt to call you if you’re not there. Coming in off an international flight, this was a huge help as we couldn’t estimate customs and border times. We were able to wait for the next bus (space permitting, they’ll let you on) which made it all very convenient.

I first want to say that I have been a very long user of this transportation between SFO and Monterey. However I cannot recommend that anyone ever uses Groome transportation services after they almost killed me and every passenger on my bus from SFO to Monterey on the 9th of July 2024. A fire began on the bus while we were on the highway, without an accident. It spread very quickly, only 30 seconds after we pulled over and evacuated flames were shooting 6 feet out of the cabin windows where we were seated. Groome then had us stand on the edge of an active highway in direct sun for almost 2 hours while they figured out what to do. We were almost hit by a passing police officer as there was no safe place to wait. Despite all of this Groome never sent a formal apology. It took 2 days before I was able to speak with a manager about the situation and that manager never apologized for what happened and stated that groom was refusing to offer any compensation for the trauma they caused and the near death experience. Additionally even a month later when speaking with managers at Groome, they stated they did not know what started the fire. 1 month after my bus burned down my brother was trapped in one of their identical busses for over an hour at the San Jose airport because the door was jammed closed. It is clear that Groome does not prioritize safety of passengers or customer relationships. I highly encourage people to look at alternatives as Groome transportation is not a safe corporation. Here are a few photos of the Groome vehicle I was on which burned down.

Horribly disorganized. They give you no information about the shuttle/what it looks like — just a general location outside the airport. The confirmation email has no phone number.

My flight got in 30 minutes late (which they knew because you give your flight details when booking) but I RAN and arrived at the designated area before 1pm.

Unfortunately, I had no idea what the bus looked like…. turns out it was a nondescript black van with another company’s name on it. I called Groome 7 times, and after sitting through the automated answerer got a “busy” signal every time. So, despite the fact that I was there at the shuttle stop, trying to get on the phone with Groome, I didn’t get on the right shuttle and it left without me.

When I finally got ahold of Groome, they confirmed that they saw that my flight was delayed, but just assumed I wouldn’t make it to the shuttle in time — so they hadn’t bothered to call the driver, nor me.

At least they run every hour, so I’m able to get on the next one (hopefully)…. but come on, guys. You need to be more organized!
