This is long over due. I want to apologize to all tha staff of NEW HORIZON SHARE HOMES. You all are doing a great job. During hurricane Irma I was with my mother. I tried to do my best to help the staff by keeping an eye on her. Before during and after the hurricane the entire staff was dead on. They were well prepared and ready for any circumstance. During the past 2 years everyone there has taken excellent care of my parents. The staff is very tentative and caring. I'm sorry if at times I havent been. My parents have been at 5 different centers. Not counting New Horizon Share Homes. New Horizon is the best. Everyone there has done the best job to help me out, and to make sure my mother is being taken care of. If anyone is looking for an ALF, make sure you put New Horizon on your list. The level of care, quality of meals, assistance every aspect at New Horizon Share Homes is rated 5 stars.

I have been here for a little over two and a half years. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. From housekeeping to the nursing staff to the activities director and to our administration. The food in my experience is great. There's a wide of different types of food they are home cooked by three chefs that try to accommodate everybody's individual needs, which is a hard thing to do. Due to COV we are treated very kindly by the administrator and since March we never had a case, which is accomplishment by the administrator. I also like that if you do smoke you can go outside underneath the porch. There are approximately 40 people here and the nursing staff works as hard as they can from helping you out with what you need handing out meds in a proper time and just pleasant to be around. By the way I am 62 and although I really don't want to be in any place medically I have to and all my needs have been taken care of

Everything seems great on the surface. HOWEVER if your loved one takes any medication do not count on it being given according to doctor's orders or even given. COPD parent not given breathing treatment on multiple occasions. Director is aware of issue and turns a blind eye.

No system for patients to get assistance other than yelling for help. Medications not given on a schedule or worse not given at all. My mother was not even given fresh water to drink daily. She was left laying in a urine soaked bed. Worst of all she got Covid while there. They knew they had residents who were covid positive and still let me enter facility which meant I also got it. This is not a facility I would want my loved one in.

New Horizon has gone down hill in all areas to include their food program which is horrible just to name one portion.. Most of the staff is no longer there and since the most loved director Donna has retired, they hired a nasty unhappy unloving uncompassionate person to take over. DON'T GO HERE!!

What a wonderful place to trust your love one's with. They have keep covid 19 out of their home. God bless you and your family
