It's so unreliable nowadays. Even before they started construction, now it's even worse. There's absolutely no telling when your ride will come. The schedule online is completely inaccurate, and you may end up waiting up to an hour for the train to come. I really wish Denver had better transportation. I've lived here my whole life and I've never had issues like I've had these past few years. My guess is that there is nothing anyone can do about it so we all just have to deal with it. Seems that building new lines is more important than maintaining the ones they already have. What a joke RTD has become?

A lot of drivers don’t care if you are disabled or have a stroller. They won’t even lower the thing or come in and announce the bus. This makes it incredibly difficult for someone like me who is visually impaired.
They also let drivers treat you however they want. One woman accused me of having a fake service dog and threatened to kick me off the bus. I never claimed she was a SD nor was she wearing a fake SD vest. Just a normal harness and leash.
Can’t even count the times I’ve been waiting at a stop and the bus I need just rolls by without stopping.
Seriously, you guys need to do better. This is ridiculous and unacceptable

Denver local here. I've lived here for 13 years and keep trying to use RTD because I believe in public transit. I ride 1-3 times a week. DO NOT use RTD if you have to be anywhere at a specific time; you WILL be horribly late. Only use RTD if you have no timeline.

For Denver visitors: The A line to and from DIA is decent, but the light rail and busses are atrocious when it comes to arriving on time (or arriving at all). The RTD app (Next Ride) is worse than just showing up at a station and waiting. The trains aren't always labeled with their lines (only end destination) and "south" sometimes means north on certain lines, so be sure to ask people on the platforms if you decide to ride.

For Denver metro residents: Invest in a cheap used bike, learn to fix and maintain it, and get familiar with the bike trails. You'll get there faster than waiting for RTD.

Update 8/16/24
Canceled train without any warning. Was forced to uber to work. So disappointing and unreliable. Denver's transportation system is a joke. Third world countries has reliable transportation systems than here.

Do better!

I’m on the bus from Boulder to DIA right now. It’s packed full, the poor bus driver had to spend half an hour loading all of the bags onto the bus. There are people sitting on the floor and standing in the aisle because RTD needs to send a second bus on this route and they need to hire people to load bags at the big stops like Table Mesa. Disappointing service. I used to ride the bus to the airport all the time, but I won’t be using them next time.

TWICE now I almost got hit by a city bus that turned at a green yield light with the crosswalk sign on. T.W.I.C.E.

RTD needs to get better drivers that care about safety, because I should not have been nearly hit by a bus twice in less than six months. Absolutely absurd. So be careful when legally crossing at a crosswalk because you may get hit by an RTD bus! Awesome!!

Like many others, I really wanted to like RTD. I purposely moved downtown to take advantage of the light rail to the airport where I work.
In the last two weeks, my train to the airport has been delayed 5 times, today almost 20 minutes late. RTD states that it wants more riders, and their plan is to lower rider costs.
Cost is irrelevant if you’re late for work or miss your flight. I have a few more months of RTD travel, then it’s back to driving again (which I detest). They really need to improve their service all around.
